How long have you been a Justice of the Peace? I have been a Justice since 1992 and I have officated at over 1000 ceremonies.
Can you tell me about yourself?
I am a husband, father of four adult children and seven grandchildren. I taught for thirty-five years and I retired to a new career of making couples’ dream wedding become a reality.
What are your ceremonies like?
We in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are fortunate that there are no strict requirements for a wedding ceremony; so my task is to do exactly what a couple would like their ceremony to be.
Do you have samples and suggestions on how to write our ceremony?
Yes, I have a packet of information that includes sample ceremonies, prose and poetry, scriptural readings etc. to help you make your ceremony one that you will long remember. It is always a good idea to meet and plan your ceremony so that it may include all facets that can make it truly meaningful for you and all who attend.
What is the cost of the ceremony?
I am licensed to marry anywhere in the Commonwealth but I prefer to do weddings on Cape. The cost of the ceremony is set by the Commonwealth. If you marry in the Town of Barnstable, the cost is $75.00 and if you marry anywhere else in the Commonwealth the cost is $125.00. I do require a $25.00 reservation fee. There can be other charges should a couple want a pre-nuptial meeting to write vows, and a rehearsal, but that is at the discretion of the couple.
Can you perform a multi-cultural ceremony?
I assume that you mean can I do ceremonies of different religious backgrounds. Yes and I have done a great number of them over the years. I usually suggest that they draw on both backgrounds in formulating their ceremony.
Where do you perform your ceremonies? That is totally up to the couple. If it is just the bride and groom, they may choose to marry in my home. Cape Cod however host many beautiful settings from beaches, gardens, inns and gorgeous homes that dot our exotic coastline.
How can we find out more about your services?
I can provide a list of references of couples that I have officiated for in the last couple of years. I ask for their permission to use them as a reference and they can answer any of your concerns.
